Wordless Wednesday : "A" for Aloha!

This weeks theme is the Letter "A"! It made me think of Aloha...which was said to me a lot when I stayed at the Polynesian Resort. I also made me remember my favorite show Spirit of Aloha which we watched at the resort. Here are some of my favorite pics from the show!
ALOHA everyone! Have a Magical Day!

Magical Moments : Serving as grand marshals of the Share a Dream Come True Parade at MK

This wonderful Magical Moment comes from Barbara
who lives (so lucky) right near the mouse at WDW!

On Feb. 9, 2004 my husband Al and I served as grand marshals of the
Share a Dream Come True Parade at the Magic Kingdom.
What an honor, a privilege and a thrill.

The anticipation built for hours as we waited for the parade to begin.
Then, as our vehicle rolled out onto the crowded street in Frontierland,
throngs of smiling people began waving and cheering and snapping pictures of us.
We smiled and waved back throughout the incredible ride, feeling like celebrities.
We were part of the magic!

The manager who selected us said that,
while children in the parade are sometimes very enthusiastic,
he had never seen an adult as excited as I was.
I guess being in the parade really brought out the four year old in me.

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Magical Weekend!:)

Focused on the Magic
Today is a very special day for its the day that Goofy came into the World in Mickey's Revue back in 1932. So, today marks Goofy's 80th Birthday! If you have loved Goofy as much as I have through the years, give him a shout out today!
So, today I wanted to flash back to some of my favorite moments with my pal Goofy!
Have a Magical Day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOOFY! We all love you!

Hanging Out with Goofy at the Character Breakfast at the Polynesian Resort

Goofy pulling me out of the crowd and getting me to dance back in 2004

First time I saw this Goofy back in 2003, I didn't know he talked until I was working
late at night on Main Street USA and kept hearing his voice.
No one was around and I kept looking for Goofy!
It took awhile until I realized it was THIS statue Goofy speaking!

Goofy making fun of my Dad at our table because we left him all alone
at Chef Mickey to get our food. Goofy was having a so
much fun playing around with my dad back in 2009!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOOFY! THANKS FOR BEING
THE GOOFBALL THAT YOU ARE!
THE WORLD IS A MUCH HAPPIER PLACE WITH YOU IN IT!

Disney Destination - Top Number One Favorite Park

This week is NUMBER ONE FAVORITE PARK...
As a child, I would have said Disney's Hollywood Studios, but now as an adult and haven worked at Walt Disney World, I would have to say that Magic Kingdom is my top favorite park. This was the park that I was asked to work at when I was in the college program and I was so excited to be placed there.
I got to work in Liberty Square, in the gift shops and also the Haunted Mansion Cart.  While working, I started to enjoy everything that Magic Kingdom had to offer and explored that park the most. I would hang out after work...
Here are some wonderful reasons I love Magic Kingdom:

Magic Kingdom's Icon : Cinderella's Castle
  • Reason One: MK has all three amazing Mountains...Splash, Thunder and Space!
  • Reason Two: WISHES! I love the fireworks
  • Reason Three: Walking down Main Street USA and seeing the castle
  • Reason Four: Main Street Electrical Parade...best parade after dark!
  • Reason Five: Infamous Dole Whip which is a soft-serve ice cream with a tropical twist..and so yummy!
  • Reason Six: Not being afraid of the Haunted Mansion anymore and enjoying it now!
  • Reason Seven: The memories that have been made at this park over the years
  • Reason Eight: Has all my Favorite Lands! Adventure, Fantasy, Tomorrow, Frontier
  • Reason Nine: Seeing Mickey Mouse and the gang at the beginning of the day when the park opens!
  • Reason Ten: getting to see the look on my stepson's face when he walked into MK for the first time

Ten Reasons for One Great Park that I will always treasure with all my heart. It's like my second home and where I feel, helped me grow to the person I am today.
Will always love Magic Kingdom! Have a Magical Day:)

Disney Destination - Top 2 Favorite Memories

This is week 9 of Disney Destination and this week Heidi's Head wants us to list our two Top Disney memories. This is a tough one for I have had so many wonderful Disney memories over the years. But after thinking about this topic for a few minutes, I have decided on these two:

Number 2 :  When I took my stepson down to Disney, I wanted him to have an experience like no other! It was his first time and he was seven years old! He was excited, full of energy and ready for all the excitement and rides! There is a section on Main Street that hides a Barber Shop called Harmony. I asked him if he would like to get his hair cut at Disney. He loved the idea! So, we went into the shop and after waiting about 30 minutes, it was his turn. The man asked him what color he would like to have in his hair...my stepson said he liked blue! After he hair was done...color in it and everything...the man through pixie dust in his hair! My stepson's eyes got so big! He was shocked...only girls get glitter in their hair according to him! He was nervous to leave the place because other people could see him with glitter in his hair....but after awhile, he got over it! I think it was all the compliments he got the rest of the day for everyone who saw his hair loved it! I loved seeing him so happy and having fun!
This was his hair after the haircut at Harmony!
Number 1 : My honeymoon at Disney World was a blast. Getting to spend time with just my husband was a great experience. I loved just hanging out at the Resort with him and walking along the beach. We enjoyed ourselves and got to experience more of the grownup fun at Disney. We watched some shows and went on a Disney tour called Keys to the Kingdom. I was great to show him some of the behind scenes of Magic Kingdom, since I had worked there back in 2003. I have to say that it was a wonderful trip and my favorite!

Magical Moments - Mother's Day fun at Flower and Garden Festival

SPECIAL EDITION For MOTHER'S DAY Disney style! This one is coming from Deb at Focused on the Magic! Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

On Mother's Day last year my 2 DSs and DH gave me a very special gift. A week at The Flower & Garden Festival! I woke up at home on Mother’s Day to a wonderfully prepared breakfast with cards, flowering plants and my family. That alone was very special and thoughtful. They're not gourmet cooks but they whipped up some super eggs and bacon with toast. Then I was whisked away to the airport for my flight to the villas at Saratoga Springs Spa and Resort in WDW.

To many of you it may sound like a peculiar gift for Mother’s Day. It was a perfect gift for me, but then I’m a little peculiar. If you've read my blog you know I'm a huge Disney fan and I enjoy photography. What you may not know is that I'm a flower photography obsessed gardening fanatic. On my way to becoming a Master Gardener.
My family new I’d truly enjoy the week. They also new they couldn't afford to send anyone with me. I would have to go solo. Being solo I would concentrate on doing things I enjoy. Quite often we mothers put aside our likes and dislikes in favor of what our families would enjoy. This is especially true for me when we're vacationing.

My magical week was spent eating whenever and whatever I wanted, taking pics late into the night and days of enjoying the pool, meetups and flowers. I took the time to not only smell the roses but take pics of them.

Destination Disney - Top 3 Disney Resorts

This week's topic is our top three Disney resorts which was liked by Heidi's Head. I just love staying on Disney Property. I have to say that it is hard to pick just three of the Resorts, they are all so unique and well themed. Here are my top three favorites...

1. Polynesian Resort : Love the feeling of Being in a Topical Relaxing Resort while staying on Disney Property.

The building we stayed in at Polynesian
The landscape

2. My second pick would have to be Animal Kingdom Lodge. I loved waking up to the animals right outside my window. The feeling of being in nature was wonderful. I can't wait to stay there again in the future:)

This is what I got to see outside my window
This was the room I stayed in look like

3. POP Century : Loved the theme, great for children, the pools were huge and the price was great!

The Pool
I got to see Lady every time I came back from the parks
These are my three picks, there are so many great Resorts at Walt Disney World that it's fun to pick a new one to stay in every time visiting! Have a Magical Day:)

Disney Magic at a Grandparents house

Giving my pepere his Mickey and Minnie gift
My Pepere (Grandfather) has been collecting Mickey and the gang since I was a kid. He started to have such a large collection that shelving was built downstairs to hold all of my wonderful Disney collection. Christmas and Birthdays was when he got tons of Disney items to add to his collection. When I went down to work at Disney back in 2003, I had bought him a Mickey and Minnie for his collection. I wanted to help him add to his Disney collection like everyone else in the family.
I find myself every year going downstairs into the basement where this Disney Collection is kept. I found some pictures of his collection back in 2003. He had even made it in our newspaper for his collection at the time was over 500 pieces..I wonder what number he is up to now. It seemed twice are large when I went down into the basement this last Christmas. But every time I go down those stairs, I get so excited inside. It's like going to Disney without having to leave. Here is his collection back in 2003....

These are two wall back in 2003, there are more shelves now and there is also another full wall of Disney stuff. I hope to one day have a large room like this dedicated for my love for Disney. Have a Magical Day:)
