DD - My Top 5 Disney Snacks

Heidi's Head has picked Top 5 Disney snacks for us to share this week. I am excited for this because I just love snacks at Disney. There are some snacks that you find yourself having to eat every time you go. Here are my top 5 snacks that are a MUST when I travel to WDW.

NUMBER ONE: OREO COOKIE!
1. YEP, The very BIG OREO COOKIE!!! The best part about these Oreo cookies is that you can made what ever you want on them, white/milk/dark chocolate, rainbow/chocolate sprinkles, nuts, caramel, fudge and so on! This YUMMY cookie can be found at Goofy's Candy Company at Downtown Disney:)

2.  I have to have the dessert from France when I am at Epcot. I head over to the bakery at France for their strawberry tart. It's so delicious!

3. I have to have my frozen Dole Whip pineapple soft serve when I am at Magic Kingdom. It's a must when you are in Adventureland. You can find it at Aloha Isle. It's perfect of a nice hot day:)

NUMBER FIVE: Ghirardelli's Ice Cream
4. I love getting the Cinnamon bun at Main Street bakery when I am at Magic Kingdom. I normally get it right before the fireworks. It takes me awhile to pull it apart and eat, but it's so worth it. They make it perfectly soft and sugary sweet!

5. Ghirardelli's ICE CREAM at Downtown Disney is the best place for ice cream. There is always a line but it's worth the wait. I love cookie dough and it makes me so happy that they load up on it. I always find myself stopping by when I am shopping during the day.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a Magical day!

Today marks my husband and I's second wedding anniversary. We had a lovely Disney themed wedding at Magic Wings down in Massachusetts. We had most of the reception based on Mickey and Minnie.

We walked out wearing Mickey and Minnie ears that
were given to us as a wedding shower gift!
Everyone loved them.

Our cake topper of Mickey and Minnie with my bouquet of flowers.
I love this picture. Looks like they are standing on a bridge of flowers:)

We had our napkins, glasses and decor on the tables All Mickey and Minnie,
I also made all the Wedding favors which were Mickey chocolates and mints.
It was a Magical day!

More on Polynesian Resort Stay

My husband and I have our two year anniversary tomorrow so I wanted to write some more about our wonderful stay at the Polynesian Resort. Such a beautiful place to spend a Honeymoon or a relaxing vacation. Great resort for couples that want a tropical get away at Walt Disney World while visiting the parks each day. We loved this resort and enjoyed just walking around the beach at night, seeing the fireworks from the lagoon front, and hanging around with the natives.
Here are some more fun pictures from around the Resort...

I enjoyed walking around Polynesian Resort the first day. At each resort, there are some fun themes to find and statues to see. At this resort, everything was very Hawaiian. Here I am getting to make friends with the natives around the resort.
This is my husband who got to really loved this statue if you can't tell...lol ....I just feel in love with all the statues around the resort. I think we took a walk around the resort every time we got back from the parks. It was so relaxing and fun.
This was the view from our room. I loved how green the trees were. When we stayed at WDW, it was sunny for the whole week, and every plant was well cared for and stayed green and lush. The flowers were also so well taken care off.
This little guy was found on a sign near our building. We take pictures of the little details around our resort so we can print them later at home and use them for scrap booking. He is now on one of our pages in a scarp book for this Resort.
I loved night time at Polynesian Resort for the torches were lit and it made a more romantic and relaxing evening. Since we play in the parks all day, its nice to come back to a beautiful, quiet, and glowing resort.
REALLY want to relax after a day at the park? This is the way to do it. This was me relaxing on the beach as the sun was setting. It's the only way to end a wonderful day at Walt Disney World.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your next trip to Disney and have a Magical Day!

A view of the Polynesian Resort Room

I have enjoyed many rooms at the Walt Disney World Resort, but this place was special for it's where we stayed at for our Honeymoon two years ago. Our anniversary for our wedding is this Tuesday so I wanted to make a few posts on what we enjoyed while staying at WDW.

First Polynesian Resort: This was the resort we decided to stay at when Honeymooning at WDW. I wanted a getaway resort that was tropical and more on the grownup side. This resort was romantic and had such beautiful landscape. But First I want to talk about the room. HUGE and very roomy. We enjoyed staying in a building that was not far from a pool and close to the monorail. The view from our room was beautiful as well. I really felt like I was getting the best of both worlds : Disney and Paradise!

Here are some pictures of the room we stayed in:

This was the room stayed in at the Polynesian Resort.

There were towels making a shape of Mickey on our bed.

This was the where we had a fridge underneath, ice bucket and
two closets on each side. I loved all the pictures in the room.

The room also had a desk, draws under the TV and a couch.
There are also another soft chair to sit on near the beds.

The Bathroom was large. It had two sinks, and I just loved the
mirrors. Wish I could have one of these at home.

This was the building we stayed at called Rapa Nui.
The building was wonderful and in a nice setting. Great view of the trees and sky at night.

Thanks for stopping by...
If you ever stay at the Polynesian Resort,
Tell everyone I say "Aloha"

My Top 6 Disney Restaurants - Destination Disney

This week at Heidi's Head, she picked for the DD Topic -  Top SIX Disney Restaurants. I enjoy all the food that Disney has to offer but there are a few places that are always on the top of my list when I travel to see the mouse. Here are my Top six places that are a MUST to eat at, Walt Disney World.

1. Earl Of Sandwich : Location is Marketplace : Food is mostly yummy sandwiches. Great part is that these delicious sandwiches are not to pricy and won't burn a whole in your pocket. You will leave feeling full and wishing for another sandwich...I love all their choices and everyone is so friendly!

2. Columbia Harbour House : Location is Magic Kingdom : Love seafood? Then this is the place to eat at when traveling through MK! ..they also have a vegetarian option as well. I love the clam chowder and if you want to get away from the crowds, eating upstairs is always a great quite spot. I once ate there while Prince Harry of England was visiting...he seemed to enjoy that restaurant as well!

Spirit of Aloha
3. Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show : Location is Polynesian : Will have to make a reservation. Great food, loved everything that was served that night, drink were amazing and got to keep the souvenir drinking glasses. I also enjoyed being entertained. Plus it was our honeymoon so we got to go up and slow dance which was so romantic. It was a wonderful time, something you don't want to miss!

4. Tutto Italia : Location is Epcot : love pasta? Ever wanted to go to Italy? ...then here is a restaurant for you at Epcot in the World Showcase. Everyone Fresh and yummy. I just loved the pasta and I felt like I was right in Italy...or in the movie Lady and the Tramp...I just wanted to start singing "Bella Notte"!

Boma
5. Boma : Location is Animal Kingdom : Loved the African style Buffet. I can't even count how many times I went up for the food. The staff was friendly and talk with us a lot at our table. Enjoyed the music as we walked in, plus it was fun to be the first to get seated. Reservations are required.

6. 50's Prime Time Cafe : Location is Disney's Hollywood Studios : Miss your mom serving you a meal? Here is a great place to bring back some fond memories. This takes you back to the 50s where the "moms" were a little "tough" at the dinner table, so you better eat all your dinner (even the vegs) and keep your elbows off the table. If you are good and eat your meal..you can have dessert...YAY! I ate all my meal and got a huge sundae:) Great place to eat for everyone! Reservations are recommended.

Hope you enjoyed the list ...check out some other lists at Heidi's Head! Have a Magical weekend!

1. Spirit of Aloha: This amazing show and sit down meal is at the Polynesian Resort. This is a show of dancing, singing and fire spinning entertainment you don't want to miss!

3. Characters in Flight: This is also located at Downtown Disney. This huge balloon will take you 400 feet up into the air and you  can see 360 degrees around Walt Disney World.

5. Summit Plummet: This awesome ride is at Blizzard Beach and it's a Thrill Ride! It starts 120 feet in the air and you will travel 6o miles as hour. I have done this ride and it's worth the rush! So, if you headed to BB, and love a good thrill ...check out this ride!

6. Animal Kingdom Lodge: Even when I am not staying at the lodge, I always seem to find myself traveling over to visit it. There are animals all around the resort and the restaurant Boma is amazing.

7. Marketplace: this is a section at Downtown Disney that you don't want to miss. Great Disney Shopping, lots of places to eat and surprises around every corner. I can spend a whole day here when I travel to Disney World and just on this side of DD alone.

Test Track closing soon for Refurb

TEST TRACK
So, I have been hearing that my favorite attraction at Epcot, Walt Disney World is closing fro awhile to get a Make Over of some sort... It is said that Test Track will be closing on April 16th through Sept. 21 1012 to get refurb by Disney and General Motors. It seems that when Test Track opens back up in Sept, guests will have an experience in the design process of the vehicles they see on the road today and will see in the future. This will be called the "Chevrolet Design Center at Epcot" and then the adventure will then shift into high gear as Guests buckle into their “SimCar” ride car. After they will put their design through its paces on the exhilarating hills, switchbacks and straight-aways of the Test Track. This seems like an awesome adventure and I can't wait until I get to design my own car to test out on the tracks at Epcot.

Plus they are also designing a new very latest Chevrolet vehicles in an all-new state-of-the-art showroom where guests will get to experience the new cars of the future and also new cars on the road. My stepson will love that part, he loved going through the old center and checking out the cars...can't wait to see his face light up in the "new showroom.
So the excitement is rising in my family fro our Disney Trip next year and seeing this new Test Track design. This will be one of the highlights of our trip, I can already tell when I read about the refurb. YAY!

Wordless Wednesday - Adventure and Stunts!

Deb from Focused on the Magic hosts Wordless Wednesday and this weeks theme is Adventure!
I love all the adventure and excitement Walt Disney World has to offer and the one show I enjoy watching is Lights, Motors, Action! This attraction is in Disney's Hollywood Studios.  I love all the stunts and also watching my stepsons face while he watches the cars do some crazy stunts. Here is a picture of the Motorcycle Chase back in 2009!

Lights, Motors, ACTION!

High in the Sky on Characters in Flight at WDW

When I went to Disney in 2010 with my husband on our honeymoon, I had to go on Characters in Flight. It was such an amazing experience to be that high in the sky and see much of Walt Disney World. Best to do it on a clear day so you can get the best views. Characters in Flight opened at WDW on  April 12, 2009. It is now 18 dollars for adults to ride and 12 dollars of children. The Huge Balloon travels 400 feet into the air and you can see about 10 miles away when you reach the top. The cast member will allow you to travel around the balloon so you can take pictures from all over 360 degrees of magic! Characters in Flight is located at Downtown Disney Area East Side. It's a ride you don't want to miss!

You will be behind this large net, so keep you camera close to you

It's a long ways down, this is the base where the balloon lands on
This is the view of  Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

I just love the view of Downtown Disney from 400 feet in the air!
Glad you stopped by, and have a magical day!

Making Flower from Bambi cupcakes for Easter

I found this cupcake recipe online at DisneyFamily.com

This is the Disney Flower Cupcake from Bambi

First you make your favorite cupcake, these are fudge cupcakes.

Fudge Cupcakes

Then you have Vanilla Frosting and you make the hair and the line where the nose will go.

Vanilla Frosting

Then after you will have Tootsie Rolls in the colors of White (Vanilla) and Strawberry (Pink)
The White will be for the eyes and Mouth area. The Pink is for the Mouth itself.

I had to use Yellow for eye and Mouth area, and Pink for mouth

Now you can make the ears with junior mints and black icing from nose

Ears with Mints and icing for nose
Then you can use Blue Cookie icing for eyes

Finished Flower Cupcakes
I made these two Cupcakes Special for my two boys for Easter. These don't take long to make at all and will be a fun treat for your kids.

Picture Stop at Epcot and yummy foods you don't want to miss!

I love all the countries when I travel around the World Showcase Lagoon. But my stepson (who was seven at the time) was in love with Morocco. He loved the structure of the buildings and the mosaic art. There is also a beautiful fountain in the middle of the court yard.

He Found a Bean bag and got excited.
He then wanted us to take a picture.
It was a great picture stop at Morocco.

He loved the mosaic art and this fountain that
was off to the side. He had to pose on it. Another
great picture spot at Morocco.

The food at Marrakesh was delicious. I enjoyed the
food so much I had to take a picture of it. There are also belly dancers that entertain as you eat!

This was a Chicken Dish, I wish I could remember its
name, but the chicken was breaded and yummy.
They have lamb, chicken and beef ...and couscous!
Now, I did have dessert but that was my strawberry tart from
France. That is also shown in the picture.
I just enjoy mixing it up at Epcot!
Have a magical day!

Finding Old Pics with Mickey and the Gang (meeting Characters)

Me and my Sister Meeting Tigger!
Back in 1993 I went to Walt Disney World with my family. We got to see many Disney characters, I think I have about 60 or so autographs of the characters when I went during that vacation. We had gone during February break and while we were at Epcot, a huge car can driving through and stopped. Many Disney characters came off and dressed in costumes.  I am not sure why? I don't remember, it could be for Mardi Gras or something, but it was so cool. We had to run around trying to get all their autographs. Here are a few pictures of the event.

This was the car that pulled up with about ten or so characters, Here you can see Roger Rabbit dancing and Goofy up above watching him!
Here is when Mickey and Minnie came out to greet everyone!

I love it when you can meet many Disney Characters all at once at Walt Disney World. Though most of the time they will arrive and stay for only a half hour or so. This is when you have to plan on which characters you will be MEETING first and get autographs from before they leave. Plan on meeting three, so if you get to meet four, then it's like a treat!
